CYGSA (Compuestos y Granzas S.A.), one of the largest Spanish PVC compound producers (Mendavia, Navarra), has been working with Multi Data for over thirty years. Over time we have built several lines to manage its PVC mixers and turbo mixers.
The challenge
Keep the PVC plants technologically advanced and efficient, upgrading panels and control without replacing turbo mixers that are still sound:
- Old electrical panels with now-dated PLCs.
- Need for finer control of the whole turbo-mixer cycle, not just dosing.
- Production downtime to be kept to a minimum.

Multi Data’s work
- Replacement of the PLC in the old electrical panels with a new Siemens S7-1500 PLC.
- Installation of new load-cell amplifiers.
- Installation of the MultiStore software, specific to PVC plants.
- With MultiStore the customer manages automatic dosing of raw materials and directly controls the turbo mixer: speed, duration of each phase and — above all — when and at what speed to discharge the various components into the turbo, for complete control of the cycle.
The result
- PLCs replaced and plant commissioned in a little over 2 weeks, with very limited downtime.
- Complete control of the turbo-mixer cycle: dosing, phases and component discharge managed from a single software.
- A partnership of over 30 years and several lines built: Multi Data as an ongoing technology partner for PVC plants.
